After the long marathon to establish a new government, a compromise was reached among the political parties or coalitions last week. In appearance, an understanding has been reached among the parties.

In accordance with this alliance, a new coalition government will be established with all the parties present in the country.

The idea of a national solidarity government, subject to a robust implementation of the new formula without any hostilities, was put on the table.

In order to achieve this and to support advantages in general for Iraq, it is essential that the political parties act in a positive manner and make a collective agreement, reach an understanding and consensus, establish a strong government and ensure a reality of national solidarity.

In order to realize this, it is essential that the Turkmen, which are the third major effective element in Iraq, contribute with a real participation in the meetings and discussions involving the establishment of a real national solidarity government carried out by the political parties; it is particularly important that the Turkmen occupy high level positions in the new government and are responsible for high level tasks, particularly sovereignty positions and that they are fully authorized regarding executive organs.

The rights of the Turkmen should not be ignored when sharing the Ministries; the Turkmen should take their rightful place within national solidarity as the third effective element in Iraq. All ethnic groups should be equal and represented in a ratio that parallels their proportion in the country; the rights of parties must not be violated. If compliance and compromise are achieved through this political balance, the high authority in the country will seize the rule of law, security, political stability and political balance will be ensured, progress and reform projects can be developed throughout the country and Iraq will be able to benefit from the new era and the democratic methods.
