Brussels (AINA) -- Speaking to a mixed audience at a book signing event in the European parliament on Tuesday, Mr. Paulo Casaca, member of the Socialist group of European parliamentarians, expressed his view on Kurdish treatment of minorities in Iraq, saying "Please stop treating others in the way you didn't want to be treated," referring to Saddam Hussein's anti-Kurdish policies.

Casaca is engaged in the political developments in the Middle East and in his new book, titled The Hidden Invasion Of Iraq, he examines the growing Iranian influence in the war torn country.

"We are receiving complaints from Turkmens, Assyrians, Yezidies and other minorities," he said, "you [Kurds] must leave people alone. You must stop forcing the Kurdish identity on others. If the Yezidis want to be Yezidis, then leave them alone."This item is available as: html
