CAIRO, April 14 (KUNA) -- A Turkish ferryboat arrived at Alexandria seaport Thursday coming from Libya with 1025 passengers on board, most of them are Egyptians who were evacuated from the Libyan city of Misrata.

Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Hussein Avni Botsali said, in a statement to the press, that the ferryboat "Ankara M.F." also has on deck passengers from other nationalities like Palestinians, Jordanians, Syrians, Iraqis, Tunisians, Moroccans, Algerians, and Bulgarians, besides some Libyan families that had been evacuated from the besieged Misrata, and which is being repeatedly attacked.

Botsali said that measures were taken to transport those passengers who have health problems in order to receive treatment, noting that representatives of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkish Consul General in Alexandria, and represetatives of countries to which the passengers belong were all at the reception of the ferryboat Botsali added that the Turkish ferryboat will head once again to Libya in case there are other Egyptians who are still besieged within Misrata, asserting the spirit of solidarity, and the deep-seated historic ties binding the Egyptian and Turkish peoples.
