GASOLINE SHORTAGE IN PETROLEUM CAPITAL KIRKUK

22nd February 2013

For two weeks Kirkuk which has the largest petroleum reserves in the world, has been experiencing a shortage in gasoline and fuel oil. The Kirkuk Province Assembly started a new application to relieve the long queues forming outside gasoline stations and dispel the shortages.
From now on gasoline shall be procured with ration cards. Citizens demanding that the gasoline and fuel oil shortage be dealt with as soon as possible expressed their pleasure with the decision of the Kirkuk Province Assembly to introduce ration cards. The people said that this decision will be vital in relieving the shortage in a major way. Some citizens also wanted the Kirkuk Province Assembly to find a solution to deal with people outside the province coming to Kirkuk to buy gasoline.
